"Like suns through the fog, like gods in the storm”. This is the motto of the Kon-Tiki Class, created in 1965 onboard the Amerigo Vespucci, at the end of the training campaign for the cadets of the first class of the Livorno Naval Academy, the prestigious institution that for over one hundred and forty years has been training all the Italian Navy officers. That motto inspired the title of this graphic novel, which, with its wonderful panels in colour, tells an adventure that is fictional but not so much, a story that is intended to make the reader dream while keeping feet on the ground, or rather, on the deck. An adventure dedicated “to all those who never stop believing in their capacity to make their dreams come true”, to the sailors of yesterday, today and tomorrow, and in particular to those boys and girls who will be able to discover their future in the sea, with its unlimited opportunities.
